Super Girly Friday Post (one day late)

Saturday, July 31st, 2010

This was supposed to be up yesterday, we know, but our travel schedule lately has been hectic to say the least.  Here we are one day late, but the items in this installment of Super Girly Friday Post are so good that it is worth that extra day of waiting. (Gents don’t get your Levi’s in a bunch, we’ll be back in two weeks with your next round of Super Manly Friday Post).  We have been combing the interwebs and found some great news-you-can-use to share with you ladies only.  You know the rules: No Boys Allowed!

First up we’ve got must-have info for all of you hitting the party and wedding circuit this summer/fall.  FabSugar gives a lesson in Photo Flattery.  Learn how to play the angles like a supermodel!   Plus, you’ll need to untag less photos of yourself on Facebook since every pic from here on out will be a smash.  Click the link above for lots of tips from FabSugar.  Highlights include: Take a pic of yourself before you go out to make sure nothing’s sheer when it translates to film, do spot inspections throughout the night to make sure no straps, etc. are showing, and one-shouldered dresses look most fab when you are turned to the side.

In other news, the Vatican is trying to class up the joint.  If you’ve got a trip planned to see the Pope you might want to stop by Roadtrip and pick up a cardigan or scarf to cover up that sleeveless dress of yours.  The guards are cracking down and turning many tourists away for “inappropriate” dressing, even at Saint Peter’s Square.   Put those sexy knees away ladies!

Last but not least, the most important new viral video for ladies who love fashion, but still have a sense of humor, is the beloved Joe Zee (don’t even make us tell you who he is, Wiki it!) wearing the new Chanel Yehti suit hot off the runways of Paris.  He may turn a blind eye to Olivia Palermo’s ineptitude on The City, but all is forgiven here as he turns New Yorker head after New Yorker head in this endearingly sweet video.

There you have it.  Those are the three most relevant things to women on the internet right now.  Enjoy this last Saturday in July girls!

Make a Splash with Hunter Boots

Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

Whether you are attending an outdoor music festival, wading in a brook, or mucking out a stall, Hunter Boots from Scotland are the stylish and classic way to keep your feet warm, clean and dry this fall.

A fixture on Hollywood’s elite, both on and off screen, Hunter wellingtons are not only fun and chic, but are durable, comfortable, and easy to wear.  When the British Prime Minister recently visited Washington he gave both of the first daughters a pair of children’s Hunter boots as a gift (pink for Malia and purple for Sasha).  These boots are living the high life right now!

We carry the classic black and aubergine tall wellington styles, but our sister/brother store Trustfund (493 Sussex Drive, Ottawa) carries an entire rainbow of colors and styles, plus they also carry the Hunter Socks that make the boots perfect for fall/winter footwear.

Spruce up those rainy and slushy days this season with Hunter Wellies.  Your toes will thank you.
