HAPPY CANADA DAY!
Wednesday, June 29th, 2011Dearphotograph.com
Saturday, June 25th, 2011OK, so there are brilliant people in the world and they create things like dearphotograph.com. Basically the concept is that they ask people to take old photographs and position them in front of the original backdrop and take a picture. Then they ask the submitter to write a short note to the photograph, like ‘Dear Photograph, That tricycle was so sweet when I was a kid. -Anonymous’. It’s really interesting to see what has changed in the original backdrop and the notes range from sentimental to hilarious. Here are a few of our favourites.
If you want to check out the others or even submit one of your own then visit their website dearphotograph.com. We can’t wait to do one!

Heather’s Picks – June 2011
Tuesday, June 21st, 2011Meet Heather, our super stylish, witty and ubertalented sales associate/stylist. Find out what’s she’s loving now and get valuable styling tips from the cutest lady around!

Whimsical patterns are in, in a big way. No longer reserved for children's clothing, feel confident throwing on this watermelon print tube top. The fringe around the top is cute and flirty and perfect for summer. I wore it with a long, layered, black necklace which actually helps cut down on the frill around the bust if need be.

This top from Flying Tomato is sheer fun. If you read my bit on sheer delights you could see how this one would fit into the spectrum. It's lacy but tiered so you don't have to worry about wearing a tank underneath... but ixnay on the flashy bras. Pair it with some cropped dark skinnies from Fidelity and throw on some strappy sandals for a great daytime look.

I don't know about you, but i have like a million weddings to go to this summer. I have been stocking up on cute cocktail dresses for the events and this is my favourite one so far. It's navy, it's tiered, it's, strapless, it has a mini bow tie- it has it all, i love it. I'm going to jack up my 5 foot tall self with some nude heels and throw on some pearls. The best part is that I'll be able to wear this again for holiday season!

I am obsessed with the crop phenomenon this year but I definitely was not ready to jump in feet first at the start. This top has cute little black lace on the trim that makes it a crop top but doesn't necessarily require that it be worn with an empire waist pant or skirt. I would wear this on a first date with a long necklace to break up the front.

Check out the rear cut outs on this top. The Aztec print is in and there's no denying it so when it comes on a top that is this structurally interesting, I am totally down. I'd wear this out any night of the week, throw my hair in an up-do and whip on some super long feather earrings. Black jeans all the way with this one, and for night time I'd throw on some wedges.

I am always partial to tops that have interesting cut outs or an ultra low back. This one from Lucy Love is super cool and edgy with shredder slices in the back. Like the lacy trim top, this is kind of a stepping stone crop that can be worn with regular rise jeans- bonus! And again, because the front is just plain I would throw on a long necklace to break it up.

This little number can actually be worn as a dress, a tunic, or a shirt- I went the shirt route on this one. One-sleeve is back with a vengeance and there's no better way to do it than with a gorgeous print and bold colours. Turquoise will make you look tanned this summer so be sure to make it an addition to your wardrobe. Pair this bad boy with a long necklace like this gold heart that we have at the store.
