Winter Minnetonka

Friday, November 25th, 2011

You were not kidding when you said you wanted more Minnetonka moccasins! In fact, you ladies cleaned us out almost as soon as we put them out on the shelves last month so we made it our mission to restock. Now we have tons of sizes of these crazy comfortable shoes and even a couple of new styles to add to the team. Check out the new ones we brought in:

We already have them in black and brown but these snow-appropriate mocs were so popular that we brought on the grey ones too. They are so fluffy and warm on the inside that you’ll never want to take them off!

You asked, we listened. We received a new style of the original mock but now with beading. Vraiment adorable!

If this winter you can’t get a dose of Uggcitrin (the vaccine for Ugg boots), then consider this a safe alternative to elephant feet. They are the perfect everyday shoe, ankle boot, and snow boot. Once you’ve had a pair you’ll be hooked, and now we have loads of sizes to satisfy your Minnetonka needs. If last month was any indication of how fast these shoes move then we suggest that you make it down to the store quick as a bunny to ensure you get what you need. See you soon!

BB Dakota and JACK for the Holidays

Monday, November 21st, 2011

We just got hit with an absolutely fantastic new shipment from two of our most favourite brands, BB Dakota and Jack. Although owned by the same company the two brands exude femininity in different ways. BB Dakota is all about celebrating the classic glamour girl like Audrey Hepburn. The lines are clean, cute, and super versatile. Most pieces will take you from the office with a cardigan to a dinner date or dancing later in the evening. Jack gives classic femininity a modern twist that will suit your everyday fashionista needs. The colours are bolder and edgier, but both brands will surely make there way in to your heart if they haven’t already.

What we love about these dresses is that they can sneakily be worn during the day with cardigans or blazers, but when the time comes you can wow people with the strategic and sexy cutouts. These are also great for holiday parties!

We were holding out in the skirt department because we were just waiting for these adorable goodies. The lace overlay is classic yet modern and perfect for almost any occasion when paired with the right top. And we can’t get enough of this 1920′s inspired number!

These floppy blouses are so comfortable yet completely structured. They look best with a pair of slim fit trousers or skinny jeans and a long necklace. Sweaters are killer because they can be dressed up or down, plus are so delicate-looking and sweet.

Can you say New Years Eve? These sequinned blazers make us drool. They are so beautiful, they will bring to attention to you without being too too flashy. We have very limited sizes in this style, so get them while they’re hot!

Beautiful, just beautiful! We love every single piece that arrived from these guys and we know that you will too. The holidays, (and their affiliated parties), are just around the corner, so it’s time to gear up on things. Come on down to the store and check out all the new styles we are continuously bringing at ya. See you down in the market ladies,

Styling Tips: How to Wear Oversized Shirts

Tuesday, November 15th, 2011

Oversized shirts, they’re here to stay. And why wouldn’t they be? They’re comfortable, they can be flattering, and they look great with skinny jeans. However awesome they are, there is always some confusion as to how one should wear an oversized shirt without looking like you’re wearing an oversized bag so we have decided to give you a few ideas that will help with this dilemma. Here are five different ways that you can easily style and accessorize an oversized shirt on the go.

    • BELT IT
If you’re worried about losing your curves under a whole lot of shirt then try cinching it with a small belt that sits around your true waist. Just make sure that you pair this with a mid or high rise pant or skirt to ensure that you don’t have an awkward mid drift slip.

    • PAIR IT WITH A BLAZER
if you’re worried about an oversized top making you look bigger, then a great way to cut down to volume is to pair it with a blazer and a long necklace. This will give you a more clean-line look and is usually perfect with a pair of skinny trousers for the office.

    • KNOT IT
If you’re really not in to the added length that sometimes comes with an oversized top then try looking for ones that have a knot in the bottom, or even do it yourself with an oversized button up, all the volume but less length- so cute!

    • GO SHEER
Wear an oversized, patterned, and sheer, top with some ultra skinny black jeans. Turn up the heat on this outfit by throwing on a pair of wickedly high heels you little minx.

    • LAYER IT OVER SOMETHING LONG
This seems like it would be a faux-pas but don’t be afraid to wear an oversized top over a calf-length skirt or dress. It’s best if whatever you choose for bottoms are on the tighter side of things so it can balance out the volume of your shirt.
